Hello all *waves* I know I've dropped out of fandom for a bit. With the exception of a couple I'm still reading, I've more or less migrated over to the LotR fandom again. I'l be back, I'm sure.
Anyway, I'm dropping in to say that ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) lococo has finished translating The Path of Second Chances into chinese. So if anyone wants a look, it is here. Actually, can anyone tell me if it actually is there - my computer doesn't register chinese. Thanks.

Just dropping in to let you all know I'm still alive :D With exams and end of year assignments and my driving test (failed again!) and the various DIY projects in my house, I have basically dropped off the IJ radar. And I don't think I'll be back any time soon, to be honest. If anyone has anything they think I should know (amazing fic, fandom explosion, JKR announcing canon Snarry, that sort of thing) drop me a line here and I should get it in the emails :D
Other than that, you'll probably see me in July, when I announce that me average 1st has dropped down to a fail due to lack of revision lol

lilyseyes, I thought you might want to see what I made with the yarn you sent me for Christmas.
Originally, it was going to be socks. I gave up on those and ripped them out. Then I made Kiri, which is the shawl behind the cut. I love it. Loveitloveitloveitloveit. I feel spring in the air when I look at it :D I do have a bit of yarn left over too, so I might reknit those socks yet, but this is the main project. Again, thank you so much!

I'm new kinds of exhausted. I've managed to read 12 books of criticism and one games fic. I've written two essays and made a plan for the third. I've started revision notes for Things Fall Apart. Wake me up if Eriador117 posts part 15 *sleeps*

Okay, this 'Im in ur serverz' thing, with the scary dogs. Where did it all start? I know it is animal related, and I know it inspires bad spelling, but why? It mkaes my brain hurt and at the moment it is everywhere. Posters, icons, a huge great freaking thread on ravelry. I just don't get it. Someone explain?

If I pass this year with a first (I have to give myself a challenge), then I will buy two skiens of laceweight yarn from handpaintedyarn.com. One in the Cortezas Ic colourway and one in Mediterrania Ic. I wish I had the money and time to just buy and knit it all now...
EDIT: I caved and bought it :D One skien of Mediterranian and one skien of bonbon. Yay for lovely colourways.
This turned into a reward for finishing all those essays on the slave trade and feminism. For heaven's sake, ears are not sex symbols *grumbles*

Y'know what's tricky? Having given up on ff.net, I've found that there is not a great deal of Sweep fanfiction out there. Or there is, but it is very difficult to find. Sweep or Wicca brings up wikipedia, amazon, ebay and sites about the craft. Hunter/Morgan brings up sites on irish names and fox hunting. Giomanach brings me back round to wiki. It's not good.
This is all broken up, of course, by fan sites without fic. Sigh.

The problem with dropping into a new fandom is that it is difficult to ferret out the bad stuff at first. So, notes to spazzysassyangel (yes, I know the name should have tipped me off):
1) Please start using some punctuation
2) If Morgan were really pregnant, she would tell Hunter, Bree, Robbie or even Alyce. Sky, I am pretty certain, wouldn't be her first choice.
3) Why on God's green earth would she be afraid to tell Hunter?
4) Sky does not have green eyes. Check your text. Hunter has green eyes, Sky has black.
5) Going back to punctuation, it's Mary K., not Mary-K
6) The family love Aunt Eileen (Not Ellen) and didn't kick her out for getting pregnant. She's gay - she never was pregnant!
7) Morgan's parents don't even mind Hunter so it is incredibly unlikely that they'd be pissed off about her having coffee with Sky.
*grumbles* I got all this annoyance from a chapter and a paragraph.
EDIT: Okay, so I've been through 13 pages of fic and there just is no good fic in this fandom. Seriously. No one can spell, no one can remember anything about the books, no one can punctuate and for some inexplicable reason people have started pairing Hunter/Bree. Mùirn beatha dàn has apparently lost all meaning.
EDIT II: Names. Get them right.
ROWLANDS, not Richards.
NIALL, not Niel.
EVENTIDE, not Eventine.
Also, ATHAR and GIOMANACH. I'm not sure what you were doing, anon.
If you can get the car right, you can get the names right.

Easter holidays start tomorrow. I'm not going in. Why? Because I'm really, horribly ill. I feel sick, headachy, stuffed up and generally crap. I have the following to do in the next couple of weeks:
1) 3 driving lessons
2) Driving test
3) 4 books to read for various modules
4) 4 essays to write for the above modules
5) Sweater to finish for Dad
6) Meeting up with Emma/Anna to revisit St. Leonards
I need a hug.

For those of you who don't know, Mills & Boon produce an average of 12 books per week in the romance category. It is classed among Popular Literature, so today we were studying it. My tutor spent a while on plot, then moved onto euphemisms. Then we had to write the opening paragraph.
Here was my attempt. Laugh and die: I followed the instructions (even the one that said it had to be het):
The rain dripped morosely down outside, watched by a pair of wide green eyes. Bonny sighed and collapsed with a thump onto the bed. The air hung heavy and damp over the canals of Venice, as a tall, dark haired man thrust his pole against the ground and pushed his gondola through the rippling water.
Yeah, I know it's basically Harry and Snape :D No one else picked up on it though - they were too busy giggling at the hero's 'pole'. Even my tutor *sigh* I'll be glad to get back to canonical literature.
In other news, I today purchased the Double Vision pattern. What was I thinking? Mathematical colourwork! Aaargh!

Well, we've started reading Poe. I hate it. The rhymes and prose are lovely but the subject matter... Not my favourite. All the covers are horrible too, so I'm having trouble looking at the books.
